About Leon
Compiled by Thea Clemons

All his life Leon had been plagued by many adversities. In spite of them all, he remained positive. Early in life he learned to manage his frustration and anger by transmuting them into a creative driving force. By doing that Leon added a lot of value to his life. One of the practical demonstrations of the value of a positive attitude, was to attain various qualifications, some of them with distinction.
His tertiary qualifications are: DTM, Project Management (with distinction), CTM (with distinction), Public Relations, Advanced Communications, Advanced Leadership, Fine Art and Creative Writing.
Leon could not afford to hire a contractor to build a study like the one in the photo, so he built it with his own two hands. He also designed and made the chair and desk himself. His desk is 2400 mm x 1200 mm which he made with Imbuia wood and Imbuia Bison board. In 1985, all the material he used to make both the desk and the chair cost R400 (about $25 American dollars). Leon developed a powerful inspiration and self-inspiration technique that he utilised to design and build this luxurious study with his own two hands.Leon measured the foundations of his study during 1984. Because of financial constraints he only did the last finishing touches to his study during 1996, twelve years after he started the project.
The lesson that especially the young people of today can learn from this is that everything worthwhile takes a lot of time and effort.
